Warren County United Way will continues to develop new programs and funding in cooperation with other community leaders. We are committed not only to raising funds for our member agencies with our annual campaign, but in creating new opportunities for the communities we serve.
Helen Bersted Memorial Grant
The Helen Bersted Memorial Grant was established in 2015 to honor the life and legacy of Warren County United Way's first, and long-time executive director, Helen Bersted. Bersted's work in this community has left an incredible mark. As one of the founding members of both Warren Achievement Center and Warren County United Way, her dedication and inspiration continues to provide service to thousands in Warren County each and every year.
Each year, Warren County United Way accepts applications from any Warren County non-profit organization who has served the community for three or more years. This capacity grant opens in the fall, and awards normally range between $1,000 and $3,000. Funds for the Helen Bersted Memorial Grant are possible through the Len G. Everett Endowment.
Emergency Funding Grant - Member Agencies
The Emergency Funding Grant provides up to $10,000 in the event of unforseen emergencies or special allocation requests from Warren County organizations that meet specific requirements. A serious financial problem or emergency situation is defined as, but not limited to: a breakdown of essential equipment; repairs that cannot go unattended without damaging the property; or an urgent community service need. Applicaitons are only available through the executive director and decisions are made with Warren County United Way's executive committee.
Other Programs and Special Projects
There are several special projects and programs available free of charge through Warren County United way, including the Imagination Library, Free Prescription Discount Cards in cooperation with Familywize, and 211 (set to launch 2018).
